About & how i start sewing

Hi! Welcome to YC LEUNG blog. First, I want to thank my mum for giving me inspiration and teaching me her talent of being a home sewer. If is not her, I wouldn't able to create beautiful handmade gift. Here, you can find handmade gift that are made by myself. It is different, unique and made with love and care and I hope you love the gift as much as i do.

We believe that gift are expression of our feeling to someone close and special. Here, you can express your feeling through personalised embroidery whether it is name,date, weight, place or message you want to put in will make the gift even more special for someone so special to us.

How i start sewing

I first started my interest in sewing in beginning 2010, I'm a very impatience person and as most people would say that sewing require alot of patience and i dont have that in me. My mum has been a sewer in her early 20s (now age 67) and work for a small factory about 10 years and quit her job after having my elder sister and my brother (I'm the youngest). I guess i inherited my mom hobbies. She very good at sewing curtain and sewing pouches, bags etc. When I'm little, I wasn't interest in sewing at all especially seeing my mom  manually thread the needles with her super small eyes and patiently try again and again till she threads the needle hole. We don't have sewing machine in those days that can auto thread your sewing needle. She still have the manual peddle Singer Machine(which i look forward to use when I'm visiting them). Ocassionally, she hand sewing some of the curtain seam allowance and lace.

My passion for sewing grow unexpectedly,my mum didn't really taught me but she give me inspiration and i found my true passion while  watching her sew when I'm little. I remember when my mum made me a small coin bag whenever there is crime around our town. I find everything she made really pretty and I'm proud that her passion for sewing continue in me.

This is my story and hope this give others inspiration that it never too late to realize your talent and follow your hearts when your mind say it is impossible.

(My tips to new sewer (those that don't have the money to buy books-like me another way is to borrow from library) you able to learn how to make things by imaginary (like me) or look at things you got around you such as bag, pillow, blanket etc as your guidance to help you made something for your own)

Losing few pounds after being nag not to eat alot.

 PS. I don't have much photo with my mum because of paranoid of being camera nicked if given to a stranger for photo taking. Am i the only one who think like this?
